Reflection
There are many things that we can learn from Mother Teresa. Even though she wasn’t the most talented, beautiful or richest person she has made such a difference for many people in this world. She does this by single minded devotion and unselfishness in working for a worthy cause. There are many others like her who are less well known but almost equally effective. Such people are usually overlooked heroes. Mother Teresa is such a strong person and even though she felt abandoned by God she still held her head high and kept going. She did not judge anyone who she tried to help. She respected other faiths and encouraged all people to engage in prayer in their own tradition.
"Every act of love is a work of peace, no matter how small." - Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa teaches us to have the courage of our judgments, even when evidence is lacking or we are in doubt. We need to keep moving forward with our purpose and values, even if some people question that purpose at times.
We all just want to feel loved. That is the most basic human desire, so when we are faced with negative people it is our mission to love them anyway, no matter what they have done in the past.
"I feel that we too often focus on the negative aspects of life, on what is bad. If we were more willing to see the good and the beautiful things that surround us, we would be able to transform our families. From there, we would change our next-door neighbours and then others who live in our neighbourhood or city. We would be able to bring peace and love to our world which hungers so much for these things."
